The Library is located at the Society’s headquarters building at 1145 17th Street NW, Washington, D.C. 20036.
The library is open to employees from Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm. Our Reading Room facilities are available to visitors weekday afternoons from 1:30 to 5:00 p.m. by either calling 202.857.7783 or emailing library@ngs.org for an appointment.
Scholars who are interested in using the Society’s archives should write to National Geographic Society, Libraries & Information Services, Attn: Renee Braden, Manager of the Archives, 1145 17th Street NW, Washington, D.C. 20036. You will need to describe your research before we decide to arrange access.
